Secure identities
Ensuring secure identities
From the point of view of security, it is important to know who you are doing business with and who has authorisation to perform specific actions. Among other things, we achieve this in our services through:
- Making Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) mandatory upon login
- Insisting on an up-to-date user administration as a condition of use
- Tightening the access requirements for use
Up-to-date user administration
An organisation’s main administrator is responsible for an accurate and current user administration.
When an employee leaves the company, it is imperative that all authorisations be revoked immediately. This prevents ex-employees from having unauthorised access to data.
We support you in these actions, among other things through periodic reminder emails. Read all about this periodic validation here.
Multi-Factor Authentication
The first step in the ‘Securely sharing data together‘ programme is the mandatory use of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when logging into Portbase’s services. No later than the 30th of June 2022, you will only be able to log into our PCS with MFA. All users will require an individual account as well as their own login name and password and they will need to verify their identity by means of an authentication app or a security key when logging in.
As of January 2022, logging in with MFA is already compulsory for all users of new organisations.
Access requirements
We are going to tighten the access requirements for the use of our services. We do this at the community level by introducing additional controls and conditions for allowing companies to use Portbase’s services.
