Service description

Parties holding a Temporary Storage Location (RTO) must comply with specific requirements set by Customs. By using the Portbase RTO administration, you meet these requirements. This service provides appropriate administration, approved by Customs, whereby Customs and the terminal have real-time access to all container information during the stay at the RTO. In addition, the RTO service communicates to the Terminal Operating System (TOS) whether cargo is free to depart from the terminal. Also, the monthly audit file can be easily generated.

This service combines data from the services Notification Import Documentation, Notification Export Documentation, Clearance NCTS Export Containers and Inspection Portal with data from the TOS. This service is designed to reduce the need for manual handling in order to handle cargo in the most efficient way within the RTO.

This service is part of the Cargo Tracking System (CTS) programme. In addition to the RTO Administration/Port-wide RTO, the ‘Transfer Module’ will eventually be developed to transfer cargo document-free between terminals and a ‘Customs Dashboard’.

Note: Every terminal is unique. For the RTO to seamlessly match the processes as supported at the terminal, an intensive collaboration between Portbase and the terminal is necessary. In the upcoming year, the focus is to connect the deepsea terminals. Other target groups will follow later.
