Hinterland Container Notification (HCN) Barge facilitates advance notification of barge visits and cargo to sea and inland terminals and depots.

Service description

Hinterland Container Notification (HCN) Barge makes it easy to prenotify the barge visit and all cargo for your inland vessels to sea and inland terminals and depots, allowing them to prepare for the visit properly so your skipper is finished sooner.

You will also receive automatic feedback on the status of your prenotified containers, allowing for timely adjustments and preventing mistakes.

Hinterland Container Notification (HCN) Barge also has a direct link to Nextlogic. Together, Portbase and Nextlogic are working on efficient and reliable handling of container barge traffic in the Port of Rotterdam. Via a single portal (HCN Barge), digital information on inland navigation, vessel and cargo from Portbase is innovatively combined with the neutral, integrated planning of all container barge visits by Nextlogic. How to get connected

HCN Barge is available via the web and by means of an API link with your own planning system.

  • The API protocol is the new IT standard for data exchange and connectivity.
  • Go to the list of software suppliers that offer a system interface for HCN Barge.
  • If you have your own IT department and develop your own API links, you can find the specifications here.

Cost

For this service you pay a one-time connection fee of €249.50 (excluding VAT). You then pay a fixed monthly fee plus a contribution per prenotification of a full container.

To use HCN Barge as a barge operator you need an EAN number. You can request one from Secure Logistics.
