Why are these steps necessary?
We ask every company to complete the registration process. This involves creating an account, ensuring that only the right people can access your data. We also check your company’s registration. In doing so, we ensure a safe port for everyone.
Although our registration process takes somewhat longer than you might be used to, it happens for a good reason.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is the security measure that requires users to use more than one form of authentication to access a service or account. MFA is possible through an Authenticator app such as Microsoft or Google Authenticator. You can read more about MFA here.
This is the person named in the business register or someone authorised on behalf of the organisation. In many cases, this is the founder/CEO of the organisation. The authorized representative authorises the registration of the organisation and signs the contract when requesting a service.
For security reasons, the authorized representative is asked to identify themselves.
The person who registers an organisation automatically becomes the main administrator. This person is the point of contact for Portbase, and manages the access granted to employees. The main administrator is the only one who can change company details and appoint user administrators.
The main administrator also receives the invoices, unless a financial person is appointed when requesting the service.
Read more about the tasks of the main administrator on Support.
How long it takes to use a service depends on whether your organisation is already registered. If so, it takes on average 2 to 3 working days before you can use a service. If not, registering will take you about an extra day.
You can speed up the process by making sure your authorized representative takes care of identifying and signing the service contract promptly.
