Port Call Optimisation
All the information you need to optimize your port call
Port Call Optimisation
Every year there are about 30,000 port calls in the port of Rotterdam. Miscommunication can quickly lead to disruptions. Clear communication is therefore essential.
Together with the shipping sector and other ports, the Port of Rotterdam is committed to sharing standards and improving the quality and availability of data from vessels and port calls. Examples include unambiguous information about water depths and water levels, or making APIs available to enable Just in Time arrivals and provide insight into cargo flows.

About Port Call Optimization
Making the process of a port call anywhere in the world as efficient as possible, from the time the vessel departs from its previous port of call to its arrival at the destination port, completing operations and then leaving the berth. Ultimately, this will reduce vessel emissions en route, in and around ports, terminals and port cities, while ensuring greater safety, compliance, a cleaner environment and lower costs for shipping lines, shippers, terminals and ports. It will also improve crew rest planning and reduce fatigue and stress associated with missed deadlines and unexpected events during a port call.
