During the World Port Days held in Rotterdam, the RDM Campus will play host to the World Port Hackathon 2015 on 4 and 5 September. Portbase is one of the partners helping to facilitate this two-day challenge. At the World Port Hackathon, new and established software developers from the Netherlands and abroad will tackle concrete challenges for the port in the fields of logistics and connectivity, infrastructure, and safety and security in various teams.

The assignment they will be given is to develop new concepts and build prototypes in a short space of time. In doing so, the participants will be able to draw on a large amount of open data, big data and the latest technologies such as the smart watch, Google Glass, Oculus Rift and much more. The team that does best wins the main prize of 2500 Euros.
